Fixing down the tub..
Fixed the rear of the tub to the chassis. Didn't want to rivet it so I drilled and tapped the chassis.
Wanted to go to Goodwood Festival Of Speed this weekend but couldn't get tickets late so next best thing, watching it from the garage.
Fixing the tub to the lower rails.
Think the cheap tap I purchased is naff, hasn't lasted long.
Nose and bonnet..
Really starting to look like a car now.
Some bad news.. My bonnet is cracked..
Took the bonnet out of storage. Its been on my spare room since I picked it up, still wrapped from when we picked it up.
Out of the packing it had a dirty great big crack in it.. Really disappointed as I have been so careful with it and it was a bit of a mission to go and get it.
Will find out about a replacement..
Its been a busy weekend.....
Its been a very busy productive weekend.. All of last week was spent getting ready to fit the tub. I managed to get my fathers help for most of the day to help.
The day started off with a template for the for the holes for the front wishbones.
Happy with the holes, its just how to fix locate and align the template on the tub.
The tub finally out the garage and on the lawn ready to cut off the supports.
Dad's good with a saw so I let him do his thing..
Well this is it.. the last time I will see the chassis with no body.. Some final pictures.
With the rear supports cut out and the tape removed from the front of the tub the next part was the worse part of the build so far...
The tub twists and buckles and the fear of breaking it is high.
The tub needed trimming in a few different areas.
Next was to line up the the scuttle. It was already pretty perfect just needed a little more off around the roll bars and the scuttle fitted the tub spot on.
Time to start drilling the front of the tub for the wishbones etc.
First hole drilled, went better than I thought.
With my father gone I took the chance to cut the hole for the exhaust manifold.
All aligned up and ready to cut.
Really pleased with the results.

No pictures of the fitting process, it was pretty tense.
Below is the tub resting in its first position.

Not looking forward to this.

Still not convinced on what to line the template up with we decided to leave it for another day.
