Trip out and DIY quickshifter

Was in luck with the weather over the weekend, Saturday afternoon was fab!

Managed to get out for a spin..  The roads were still a little damp but it was good to get out.

Sunday was pissing with rain, decided to have some garage time to have a play with the quickshift.

The aluminium bar I purchased to do the job won't work as its too brittle and won't bend 90 degrees.

I ended up using some right angled alloy bar I had in stock. It worked perfect.

Not tested with the engine running yet but so far it looks good.  When the engine runs it should go into gear better.  Will test out tomorrow night.

So the clutch switch goes into the microswitch, the cables are joined and then when the clutch it pulled in on the bike it breaks the connection and the top injectors cut. I will wire the clutch switch into the normally closed side of the microswitch.

Soldering iron out.. Its been a while!

Fixed into position.. Just need to test with the engine running. If all ok a bit of loctite on the bolt holding the bracket on and i'm done.

Used bullet connectors on the cables so if ever any problems I can cut the microswitch out the loop and rejoin the clutch switch.

To be continued......

DON'T USE THIS METHOD.. IT DOES NOT WORK, WELL IT MAKES FOR A SMOOTHER GEAR CHANGE BUT NOT MUCH ELSE

Popped out for a spin

The weather turned for the better so had to pop out and test out the new steering wheel. Loving the
bigger wheel!

The roads were covered in crap and it was slippery as hell.

New Steering Wheel Showed Up...

New steering wheel turned up..  Really really like it, its well made, nice and strong.. Comes with screws.

All fitted, had to use an adapter as my quick release is 3 hole and the wheel is 6 hole. Push the wheel closer to me which I prefer.

Can see the dash clearly now, all shift lights visible which I couldn't see before.

New Steering Wheel.

So the 280mm round Momo is too small..  Going to try a 320mm Momo flat bottom.  I've already got a 320mm unbranded flat bottom that I really liked but its far too bendy. The Momo for sure will be stronger.
