Track day overheating and electric reverse..

The end of the Brands didn't end well with the overheating and the car bogging down.

The only thing it can be is the electric reverse rubbing somewhere and making the engine work too hard.

Seats out, tunnel out and time to pull apart the reverse.

Lunch first..  Had Adam on hand to help.. :)

First bit found to be catching on the prop.. reverse motor adapter.

Second bit found to be catching on the prop.. Electric reverse mount catching on prop flange bolts.

Third bit found to be catching on the prop.. the actual reverse motor itself.

Decided to shave off as much as possible from the reverse motor and adapters.

The chassis mount was cut away to give the flange more room.

 All in bits..

Had help from the little man!  (Yes the garage needs a tidy)

fourth bit found to be rubbing.. The reverse motor spline has actually been catching on the reverse gear when the reverse is not activated.

Based on the above..  The reverse motor is going in the bin.. until I can find a better solution where it does not come into contact with the prop.

Below is my new solution for now.. lol

Starting to go back together..

This thing has caused me some problems.. I'm sure its held me back during launches.

More help from the little man.

First track day... Brands Hatch here we come!

The weather is has been silly hot.. and I have finally booked a track day.

I dragged the trailer out of storage.. It was looking a little ropey after the failed track day at Goodwood in January. Needs a good wash.

Car all loaded up and ready to make our way to Brands..

There were like 20 new Mini's there, all the same colour and spec.  They were flying around on track..

Home time... after the oil temp light coming on and the engine bogging down I thought it was time to call it quits.

Decided to keep the Gopro off during the sighting laps and first few laps out on track. Didn't want to concentrate on the camera so left it in the pits.

Here is one of the only videos I took.. Will take more next time on track.
