Bulk Head Wiring / Starting to Solder

Not yet having the scuttle I was unsure of how much room I had on the panel. I asked a few of the other owners, from the front of the engine bulkhead the scuttle starts is about 10-11 inches. So I don't have much room but enough. 

Started to mount the relays.  Wasn't too sure where I wanted the fuses so decided to leave this for now.

On the garage floor doing the soldering this time. Didn't think the lounge floor was a good idea with a soldering iron. 

Started with the side stand switch, in the up position the switch is closed so I just soldered the cable together. 

Next was the speed sensor, this requires a little chip to be soldered between the three wires. One a power feed, a ground and the other a pulse returning to the ECU. 

I'm not the best at soldering so this was going to be tricky.

Was quite pleased with the results. I put heat shrink over the three cables and then heat shrunk the hole lot and taped it to give it some strength.

Next was the steering damper which is another chip wired between the two cables. 

Don't stand still you will get heat shrunk! 

Electric panel bulkhead

Now the pedals are finished I can fit the electric panel bulkhead panels. 

The garage is in a MESS! I am terrible just can't keen it tidy.. 

All fitted.

Ready for tomorrow to start adding the wiring.

Scuttle panels for electrics

Started to make some panels to mount my electrics on.  I used some cardboard for some templates first.

Quite pleased with the results, they are not perfect but they won't be on show so should be fine.

Bulkhead top panel and wiring loom panels

With the pedals nearly complete I thought it was time to make a start on the bulkhead top panel. 

My father helped me cut out the inspection panel, I need to get a cover laser cut and powder coated. 

Fitted the panel where the loom comes through the tunnel.

Not sure if I was suppose to bend the top but thought it looked better.

Started to drill and the holes on the panel and chassis. I won't fix it in place yet, not until the pedals are 100% done.

  Started to make some templates for aluminium panels for the electrics.

Bulks head and brake reservoir fitment

Time to fit the upper part of the drivers side bulk head panel. It needed a fair amount of trimming to make it fit. Then drilled, tiger sealed and riveted. 

I'm not overly happy with the cut panel but I'm not sure you will see if when everything is installed.

I installed the master cylinder so I can see where the brake reservoir and mount needed to be fitted.

Couple of holes to hold the bracket in place.

 I used a small amount of tiger seal to stop vibration and to help hold it in place.

I haven't fitted the strap yet as I will wait until I am ready to fix the lines etc.

While I had the tiger seal out I decided to seal up the passenger side bulk head panel. Its now completely sealed so no air or water can enter. 

I tidied up the rear brake lines, not ready to fix them into place until I have offered up the diff and fuel tank. I will also run the fuel lines so I know the route and where everything can be secured down.
