IVA - Flog light Angle..

Put a load of pictures up on the MNR owners club for some comments from some other owners who had put a car through an IVA.

Leon advised the fog light needed to be at 90 degrees. The angle is close but probably a little too far off 90 degrees for my liking.

Started off with some thick trim to try and push the angle out. It wasn't enough to push the lens out.

Ended up using a smaller bit of trim but used some foam on the actual lens to push it away from the holder.

Angle is much better now..

Had some help today...

Rob came down today to help me with a few jobs. 

Managed to fit the temperature switch to the rad. 

Fixed some good sausage rolls to. :) 

Managed to get my dimmers setup and working.

Rob sorted out the hazard switch which I had no idea how to sort out. I needed another flasher unit to get it working with the savage switches.

With the rest of the dimmers wired up and the wiring as tidy as I could get it.

With the ignition on my dash lights come on dim, the black switches were pretty hard to see but now they are not.

Mission tidy up!

Third Brake Light

I ordered a third brake light from CBS. It turned up today so fancied fitting it. 

I am not the best at drilling and tapping so decided to take my time. 

First I taped up the area and measured up the middle. 

The first hole to drill was for the cable going in the roll cage.

Hole drilled.

Its impossible to drill up into the bottom of the roll cage so I've made a small hole that will come out under the boot cover.

I used the left over excess handbrake cable to pull though the wiring.

With the wiring in place I marked up the holes that needed drilling and tapping.

The first hole drilled and tapped. 

All done, really pleased with the results.. Drilling and tapping is not my strongest point so glad it went well.

Nice and bright, I should be seen with this.  After IVA I will fit a flasher unit, they seem legal now, will flash for a few moments when you first apply the brake and then go solid. It won't repeat the cycle if the brakes are pressed within 7 seconds but will after this.

Rear lights part two

Managed to get some more bolts ordered up so finished off the lights.

First job was to replicate the holes I had drilled on the passenger side. 

Fog light, I matched the hight of the rear brake lights.

Then the same again with the reverse light.

The finished results... Looking good..  :)
