Filling with coolant..

Been waiting a while to do this but finally have the system full of coolant. Was surprised at how much water the system held.

I used washing up liquid on the alley pipework to make it easier to push together when I was working out the sizes. Not such a good idea as it mixed with the water and made bubbles, they will disappear i'm sure.

Couple of videos..  The motor is quite powerful yet pretty quiet.

Coolant Thermostat Modification

So because I am running an electric water pump and the bike engine needs to run cooler in a car the coolant thermostat requires some modification.

Once off you can see the stat inside which needs to be removed.

I removed the stat and put the holder back into the housing. Apparently if you don't put it back in the coolant passes through the block too quickly and won't remove the heat.

Rad and Oil Cooler

Fitted the radiator temporarily as I wanted to make an adapter to mount the oil cooler.

I had some angle aluminium in stock that I have seen used before to mount oil coolers, it seemed to work well.

I made sure there was just enough room for the pipework to fit in place.  The pipework has to go in from the top to avoid any airlocks.

Really pleased with the results, doesn't look too bad and its really strong.

Laid out the braided hoses and marked the lengths. I am sending these back to AB performance to cut to length and fit the fittings. They offer these as a service and I am just sending them back my tank to have a fuel pump and swirl pot welded in.
