Fixing down the tub..

Fixed the rear of the tub to the chassis. Didn't want to rivet it so I drilled and tapped the chassis.

Wanted to go to Goodwood Festival Of Speed this weekend but couldn't get tickets late so next best thing, watching it from the garage.

Fixing the tub to the lower rails.

Think the cheap tap I purchased is naff, hasn't lasted long.

  1. Hi Knobby,
I like your method of attaching the tub to the chassis - I know I will want to remove it in the future. Any hindsight advice before I do the same? For instance, what size screws would you suggest? And it appears that a quality tap would be prudent...
    Thanks!

    1. Cheers... My only comment would be buy decent fixings as mine have rusted very quickly.. They weren't cheap but haven't lasted long.

      Are you building one currently?

    2. Hi. Yep. Bought an F20C (Honda S2000) engine from Leon Morell's daddy-in-law. Finally received my header, rear brakes, etc. from MNR a couple weeks ago. Still waiting on the propshaft.
Anyway, thanks. So, stainless steel screws then, eh? And tapping (M4, M5, M6?) threads is better than self-tappers?

    3. Mine were M5's.. Go with stainless for sure!
